In the agricultural field, as the rain
water is spread unevenly; the distribution of water according to the need of
the crop is not easy to control. Because of no appropriate irrigation approach
farmers suffer huge financial loss. In India, farmers manually irrigate the
land at regular intervals. This technique sometimes eats up more water or
sometimes the water reaches late and crops get dried. To overcome this situation,
we use Auto irrigation system in which the irrigation will happen only when
there is enough need of water.

The goal is to provide Water Management in
Irrigation System with monitor and controls. It is designed to solve unnecessary
water flow in agricultural field. The water level in the field can be monitored
on a mobile application through internet.  This application shuts the supply of water automatically
irrespective of physical location of the user provided internet connectivity.
To keep track the moisture content of the soil turn on the sprinklers
automatically when the content of water goes down a certain level. Without visiting
the farm, the user can examine whether the farm is irrigated through the mobile
application. One of the most important aspects of IOT is extraction of high
level information from raw sensory data. The main component of the system is
the microcontroller which acts as a bridge between the sensors and the mobile
application.

METHODOLOGY

The algorithm is as follows:

Step 1: Begin the technique.

 

Step 2: The initial power is supplied to
microcontroller.

 

Step 3: Check
soil moisture level and the humidity level.

 

Step 4: If moisture content in soil is higher than a
fixed value, then there is no need of irrigation.

 

Step 5: If the soil moisture content is less than a
fixed value, then start irrigation, same as for humidity, start sprinkler.

 

Step 6: When the water reaches the prescribed point of
water level sensor then the irrigation system stops itself and sends the
message about the moisture content and the humidity.

 

Step 7: User can operate
the system remotely through a web page.

RESULTS

Depending upon the humidity and moisture
level in the soil, Irrigation system works. Auto Irrigation System is operated
with less manpower. Proper amount of water should be supplied because over-watering
and under-watering affects the crop.
